Good News!

Well, with my hectic week behind me, I have received a bit of good news!  My Dad is doing great!  He only had 30 percent blockage, and was sent home with a good report.  Also, my husband received a good report - no cancer.  Collin has completed one revival skit and has 3 more to go.  (He has also decided to become a preacher!)  Our soccer tournament was cut a little short, and we were able to get home early and avoid the rain on Sunday!  Since Collin is standing over my shoulder, I guess I will cut this post short!

First Post and Giveaway

Well, this is my first post.  I have decided that I am going to pursue my love of writing, even if there is not a single reader.  So here goes:

I woke up Monday morning, and as I was getting ready for work, my husband said, "Well, I guess we are back to a "normal" week."  (He was referring to the unusual previous weekday routine:  MLK,Jr. Holiday from school on Monday and Parent Conference Day on Tuesday when I had to work 10:00am-6:00pm.)  Ok, can I just say he jinxed me!  Monday began at work with some unexpected media training (left with a splitting headache) to finding out I had PTA on Tuesday night at 6:00pm (no time for my walk) to Tuesday morning at work (all day meeting with no lunch til 1:30!) to Wednesday morning when my Dad had to have a heart cath. to tomorrow when my husband has a biopsy to a soccer tournament this weekend (out of town)to a revival at church (helping with the children's program and am writing skits)and payday is not until Friday! I know what you are thinking...WAHHHHHHH! Anyway having all of that said (Oh and did I mention that I have been thinking all of this time that tomorrow is Friday!)  I still feel so blessed.  God is good ALL of the time and I am so thankful for this little "kick" in the bottom from Him that reminds me that life is not ALL about me!  And thankfully, my dad received a pretty good report, has been discharged and is at home resting!  :0)

Now, having said all of that:

Are you ready for a fabulous giveaway?   This is a giveaway for one of the Ethiopia necklaces that had been featured at http://noondaycollection.com.  I LOVE this necklace and here is the scoop:
Noonday Collection launched at this year’s Together for Adoption Conference in Austin and is fastly becoming the go to spot for meaningful and fashionable accessories.   Every item is handcrafted in style, with love, and creates a pathway out of poverty for those who make it. Furthermore, proceeds go towards placing orphans in forever families (the owner is adopting from Rwanda and also helps others raise funds for their adoptions). You can read more about the artisans on their website HERE.
This Dangling Saqa Disk Necklace designed by Raven + Lilly, retails for $49. It hangs low and adds that extra drama to an otherwise basic outfit. Handmade by Entoto artisans in Ethiopia using recycled metal beads and melted down war weapons. These necklaces are truly unique. Genuine silver embellishments made by a local silversmith. Each of these spectacular beads is a unique piece of artwork. Loop-tie closure. These women suffer from extreme poverty and poor healthcare. Many suffer from HIV/AIDS and have been outcast from their community.
This necklace is the last of its kind, but there are 2 more made by the same group in Ethiopia that are totally fabulous and are available on the website!
